This past week, we kicked off our first Teen Outreach event of the year, and it was one to remember! Over 80 high school students showed up for our Boot-Check BBQ Kickoff.

In true Teen Outreach tradition, we started with the Self Boot-Check tool. This powerful tool helps us take an honest look at where we’re at by using Red, Yellow, or Green in 8 key areas of life: Mental Health, Relationships, Movement, Nutrition, Sleep, Spiritual, Creativity, and Finance.

Over the next 8 months, we’ll take a deeper dive into each of these “Great 8.” The Self Boot-Check is all about self-awareness—because it’s hard to pour into others if we aren’t first pouring into ourselves.

We’re especially excited about this year’s Teen Outreach Leaders. These seniors from across the Magic Valley spent the summer at a retreat crafting their plan to make an impact in their schools and communities. Now, they’re ready to put that plan into action—and we can’t wait to watch it unfold.
