The Power Behind Our Words

Friends of the Jae Foundation,
One thing I have found myself increasingly intrigued by lately is the deeper meaning behind words.
We often use words and phrases so frequently that we don’t stop to consider what they actually mean. Yet when we slow down and unpack them, we often discover greater clarity, purpose, and alignment.
As I was reflecting on our “what” recently, I thought it might be helpful to do exactly that.
Our What:
We strive to create hope and a future by taking a transformational approach to mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and healing for families who have lost loved ones.
At first glance, it may seem like just a sentence. But when we break it down, there is tremendous meaning behind every word.
We Strive
We are committed to pursuing this mission every day. We may never fully arrive, but we wake up each morning dedicated to making a meaningful difference.
Create
We don’t simply respond to problems. We intentionally create opportunities, experiences, relationships, and environments that help people move forward.
Hope
Hope is the belief that tomorrow can be better than today. It is helping people see that their story is not over and that they matter.
A Future
A future is the confidence that life still holds purpose, possibility, and potential. We want people to move from merely surviving to truly thriving.
Transformational
This word may be one of my favorites. Transformational means creating lasting life change. It goes beyond information, awareness, or a single event. It is about helping people move from where they are today to where they are capable of becoming. We don’t just want to touch lives—we want to help transform them.
Mental Health Awareness
Creating conversations, reducing stigma, providing education, and helping people understand that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Suicide Prevention
Helping people recognize their value, build meaningful connections, access resources, and find hope before a crisis becomes a tragedy.
Healing
The process of restoration after pain, trauma, or loss. Healing does not mean forgetting. It means finding a way to move forward while carrying the memories of those we love.
Families Who Have Lost Loved Ones
Walking alongside people through some of life’s most difficult moments and helping them know they are not alone.
When I see our mission through that lens, it reminds me how important this work is, how many lives are impacted through it, and how much we need YOU to help carry the mission forward. Every conversation, every act of generosity, and every opportunity to create hope matters. Thank you for believing in this mission and for walking alongside us. We are incredibly grateful to have you on this journey.
