Three Places. Three Teams. One Shared Vision.

Friends of the Jae Foundation,

Over the course of two days in Laramie, our team welcomed more than 200 members of the University of Wyoming Western Thunder Marching Band through nine sessions of the Jae Foundation experience. We shared Jae’s Story, talked about the importance of checking in and fitted a whole lot of boots. Our time in Laramie also included the opportunity to host the University of Wyoming Cheer Team for their own Jae Foundation experience. We were grateful to share Jae’s Story with another group of students who give so much of their time, talent and energy to representing Wyoming. There is something powerful about watching an entire program choose to show up for one another. These students spend countless hours practicing, performing and representing the University of Wyoming. It was special to pause and let them know that they are seen and appreciated. Telling them, “You are loved. You are valued, wanted and needed here,” felt GOOD. You can’t be a Josh Allen and University of Wyoming fan without knowing his signature line: “Be good. Do good. God bless and Go Pokes!” For several days in Laradise, we had the privilege of living out that message alongside the band. And, MAN, did we see and feel it when they took the field at halftime of the homecoming football game! We are incredibly grateful to Director Joe Carver and the entire Western Thunder team. Joe is leading an absolutely top-tier program at the University of Wyoming. The talent is undeniable, but what impressed us most was the culture he and his team are building. It was a genuine joy to work with them. And while all of that was happening in Laramie, two more Jae Foundation teams were hard at work. One team was at Jae’s Place in Casper, welcoming high school seniors through our doors. Another was in Green River, completing the first season of our newest Wyoming hub. At the same time, members of our Idaho team crossed state lines to stand beside us and help make it all happen. Three places. Three teams. Hundreds of boots. One shared mission. We lovingly call ourselves Team WYDAHO, and these past few weeks have shown exactly what that means. It means people stepping in wherever they are needed. It means long days, early mornings, late nights, miles on the road and a tremendous amount of work happening behind the scenes. It means Wyoming and Idaho staff members, ambassadors, volunteers, schools, donors and community partners working together because we believe people matter. I could not be prouder of this team. None of this happens because of one person, one location or even one state. It happens because our One Jae Fam continues to show up—for the mission and for one another. And we are not finished. High School Senior Boots season continues across Wyoming and Idaho, and our long-term goal in Wyoming remains as big as ever: to reach every high school senior, every year, with Jae’s Story, a pair of boots and the reminder that they never have to walk through life alone. We still have work to do. If you want to help bring the Jae Foundation experience to students in your community, we would love to have you on the team. It takes all of us to do this work. To our Team WYDAHO family and every partner who made these past few weeks possible: thank you. I am so incredibly proud and grateful. With gratitude and WYDAHO pride
